Health Professional Course: £449
This 1.5 day course is suitable for registered Health Professionals that would like to offer vaginal pelvic floor muscle assessment as a new skill within their scope of practice.
It is also suitable for professionals that would like refresher training in vaginal pelvic floor examination. Our course has a strong focus on postnatal considerations and is suitable to pair up with 'Natal Foundations Level 1' if you are a Health Professional.

Women presenting with symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction require a detailed assessment and examination. Internal pelvic floor assessment is the gold standard way to assess how the pelvic floor muscles and connective tissue within the pelvis are working.

On completion of 'Pelvic Floor & More' you will be able to:
Understand the requirements and considerations to comply with professional standards and consent for this type of examination
Screen for pelvic floor dysfunction within your subjective history taking.
Perform external palpation of the pelvic floor muscles
Perform a vaginal examination to assess pelvic floor function
Review the role of the pelvic floor muscles in relation to normal bladder and bowel function
Understand further the impact of childbirth related trauma to the pelvic floor short and long term.
Empower women with evidence based education and advice relating to pelvic floor function
Consider and implement an initial pelvic floor exercise programme

We use pelvic models, simulators, actresses and peer physical examination (PPE). Peer physical examination is not compulsory or expected. If you choose to participate in peer physical examination written consent will be recorded. Each course participant will be expected to perform at least one observed pelvic floor examination on a simulator or real life model to gain course certification.

All Health Professionals attending this course must be actively working under a regulating Health Professional Body and hold appropriate indemnity insurance. We will ask for proof before course attendance.

Unfortunately, we do not offer an exclusive online ‘Pelvic Floor & More Course’, this is due to the practical nature of this course, including the clinical assessment component. E-learning modules are included in the course however, totalling O.5 days of the total learning involved.
Fitness Professional Course: From £249
This 1 day course is suitable for fitness professionals, exercise teachers, movement and body work therapists who want to gain an understanding and awareness of the female pelvic floor. It is also suitable for registered Health Professionals that do not plan to offer 'internal' pelvic floor assessments.
Our course has a strong focus on pelvic health considerations through the female life span, and is suitable to pair up with our signature Natal Foundations course.

Pelvic floor dysfunction is very common. Women of ALL ages with pelvic floor dysfunction WILL be attending YOUR sessions, PT sessions and classes. Having a greater depth of pelvic floor knowledge and awareness, will allow YOU to support your clients to achieve their fitness goals.

Although this course is designed for fitness professionals, we have had massage therapists and movement therapists who have done rehab training attend this course and they found it very useful, and health professionals that do not plan to perform an internal assessment.
